According to a Pentagon report, even at a time of record unemployment rates for our country, the military spouse community struggles against a 26% unemployment rate and a 25% wage gap compared to their civilian counterparts.
In 2018, Digital Works launched a pilot program to address the needs of military spouses and veterans. Two classes were held in the Elizabethtown/Fort Knox, Kentucky area, and Connected Nation was inundated with applications and questions from those who were interested in taking part. The program was so successful that classes for military spouses and veterans were launched in early 2020 in Fort Campbell, Kentucky.Register Now for Training
Digital Works staff soon learned that military spouses and veterans are uniquely and well-suited for the Digital Works program. The students were eager to learn and quickly leveraged their new skills and connections to find jobs, some landing more than one position.
For that reason, we are currently working with partners to serve this population and are seeking funding and support to expand and offer this to military spouses and veterans across the country.

Meet Our Graduates:
Veterans and Military Spouses
Here’s what veterans, military spouses, and military family members who have graduated from Digital Works have to say about the program.
"A lot of military families move a lot and every couple of years you’re going across the country or across the world and you can take this with you and you won’t have to get a new job. Plus, you don’t have to buy a wardrobe and pay for gas and lunches and day care and all that. It’s just so much money saved."

"I even reached out to my daughter because she’s a military spouse and I said ‘this is great. If you can get into this program, learn a job, get a job working from home, whenever you move to a new duty station, you go overseas, whatever the case may be, you still have a job."
Grew up in a military family
"It’s a three or four work program and it’s worth it. You can start applying in that fourth week."
"Military spouses really need a boost. They need to get back into the workforce and some of them don’t have any other way to get the skills that they need or don’t know where to go. I think it’s a great thing Digital Works is doing to help military spouses move forward."
"What Digital Works is doing is they’re setting up military spouses and veterans for working from home."
